
Scholarships & Financial Aid
The Charleston Academy of Music commits itself to providing everyone with an equal opportunity to partake in all the benefits of the programs.
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and musical merit.
Auditions are held throughout the year and require recommendations from either a CAM faculty member or school music teacher.

Honors Program Scholarships – Requirements
• The student must receive a recommendation from his/her current private instructor.
• The student must be practicing at least 2 hours per day.
• The student has been participating in competitions, performances, and completing volunteer work.
• The student's family must show determination and support in their child's music education.
• The student must perform a successful 20-30 minute recital program audition.
Expectations of Honors Program Scholarship Recipients
• The student will attend 15, 1 hour private lessons per semester.
• The student will make sure he/she arrives to lessons on time at proper location.
• The student will come prepared to each lesson.
• The student will show respect to his/her instructor.
• The student will practice a minimum of 2 hours per day.
• The student will not miss more than 2 lessons per semester.
• The student will participate in recitals, including: Student Recitals, Honors Recitals, Piccolo Spoleto Recitals, and Outreach Recitals.
• The student will attend and/or participate in 2 Masterclasses per semester.
• The student will attend Chamber Music (depending upon the student's performance and competition schedule).
• The student will contribute at least 10 hours of volunteer work per semester.
• The parent/guardian and/or the student will give recognition to CAM and the student’s instructor upon receiving any awards or media recognition.
