The Academic Program provides a complete music education of the highest quality to prepare students for professional careers as musicians, music educators, and lifelong advocates of classical music.

Students of the Academic Program may choose to receive musical instruction in piano, voice, cello, classical guitar, violin, flute, clarinet, and viola. Musical instruction includes private lessons and various classes (Theory, Masterclasses and Performance) and workshops (String Workshops and Guitar Ensembles).
Scholarships are offered through the Honors Program to talented and serious students who are committed to their music education and wish to pursue careers in classical music. Students enter the Honors Program through an audition process. They study with College of Charleston professors Enrique Graf and Natalia Khoma, and Charleston Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Yuriy Bekker.
In 2009, established Kidzymphony. This Orchestra Program is modeled after El Sistema, a youth development program that promotes the values of access and excellence through intense, high caliber music instruction. It is housed, as an after school program, at Meeting Street Academy (MSA).

This program makes superior musical instruction and performance opportunities accessible, each year, to a remarkable number of 24 students of diverse backgrounds, at no cost to their families.
Every summer, CAM offers a number of camps for students (ages 7-18) at the College of Charleston. Subjects range from Music Theatre, Piano, Strings, Guitar and more. These fun, educational camps provide stimulating activities and encourage students to develop their music skills. At the end of the camp, students are able to showcase their hard work in performances.
