Congratulations to CAM student Shannon Fitzhenry who won first prize in the Hilton Head Concerto competition. She won a money prize and will appear as the soloist with Hilton Head Orchestra! Shannon studies the violin at CAM as an Honors student with Yuriy Bekker, concertmaster of CSO.

Congratulations to all seven CAM students in cello, piano and violin who applied and were all accepted by the Charleston County School of the Arts!

CAM students Nick Bentz, Rachel Dawson, and Shannon Fitzhenry won the prestigious Share the Stage contest and performed side by side the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. CAM Faculty and staff and the entire city of Charleston could not be happier and prouder for them! Bravo!

The Charleston Symphony Orchestra will premiere Under an Indigo Sky by Edward Hart of CofC at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in Gaillard Auditorium as part of its Masterworks Series. The concerto will feature CAM faculty Yuriy Bekker, who will play the legendary “Ex Nachez” Stradivarius Violini, constructed in 1686 and provided for this performance through the generosity of John Constable of Philadelphia. Guest conductor will be Darko Butorac. Read more about the event here.
